David and Goliath

Then as I'm reading I hear Casting Crowns....the voice of truth...

Oh what I would do to have The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant With just a sling and a stone Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors Shaking in their armor Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

Then I GOT IT again!

Its OK to shake in your armor, so then I read the familiar story of David and Goliath. And notice a few things about Goliath...he had on armor and he had a shield bearer.

David was obedient to his father...delegated the shepherding, packed his supplies, went on the journey, gave his "baggage" to the appropriate person when he arrived, didn't let the "talk" of his brother bother him and RAN to the battle.

The reward was that his family wouldn't have to pay taxes to Saul...hhahaha, little does Saul know!

Also I kept thinking about The Armor...what went thru my mind over and over was "feet shod with the preparation of the gospel"

Shod....what does that mean? So I looked it up.

From the root word: Deo
to bind tie, fasten
to bind, fasten with chains, to throw into chains
metaph.
Satan is said to bind a woman bent together by means of a demon, as his messenger, taking possession of the woman and preventing her from standing upright
to bind, put under obligation, of the law, duty etc. 1b
to be bound to one, a wife, a husband
to forbid, prohibit, declare to be illicit

The Metaphor is what caught my attention. That is exactly how I have felt over the past few weeks. But I kept praying and seeking God and doing my bible study and reading the word.
